This is an article about temperament by Dr. Sam Goldstein. I attended a workshop presented by him a few years ago. I really like his approach about child rearing and think many of his ideas coincide with the Circle of Courage values. Enjoy!

http://www.iser.com/, or Internet Special Education Resources, is a site that is like the yellow pages for special education resources. It's a place where parents and educators can find information and resources regarding a wide variety of disabilities, advocacy for kids with special needs, etc. It's a good starting point for people who have questions about childrens' rights with regards to special education law, including issues with assessment and labelling.

http://www.nativechild.com/resources/test.html

This is an article about Native American Testing. It also states different ways on what they do with the results of the testing. How unfair the testing is for the Native American Children.

I thought this would be a good article to share.

http://www.heilkunst.com/autism/

A book called "Autism: The Journey Back" is based upon treatment of autism and leaning disabilities "it includes homeopathy as well as drainage, detoxification, diet, supplements, the balancing of the autonomic nervous system, energy work, and fungal treatment."

It has links for related health products, for example.

I tried to order the book at Barnes and Noble but think it can only be orderd from this website.

This website is Canadian.

I'm going to try this again and proof read before I post. The site http://www.cradleboard.org/main.html seems to have lesson plans for all grade levels.

I got an e-mail about this upcoming workshop and thought I would pass it on in case some of you were interested.

The State Autism-List serve recommends the following workshop:

Click on: Seminars
Click on: MN
Choose a grade level
Click on: Duluth
Click on: March 19, 2009 "Strategies for Working with Students with Aspergers Syndrome And High Functioning Autism k-12."

You will find a description of the workshop.

I read the article entitled "Culturally Relevant Classroom Management Strategies for American Indian Students". I thought it was really interesting and points out the differences in discipline styles and ties in the Circle of Courage for classroom management and learning. It's long but work the info., check it out at: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa4052/is_200410/ai_n9521256

I finally figured it out! I'm blogging with you all! Here is my article resource actually ready last Sunday but...

The American Indian Education website (http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~jar/AIE/index.html) is and amazing website with a wealth of information and links to conferences, topical powerpoint presentations, books, and articles.

"This web site is designed to provide information, including links to related web sites, on the history and current thinking about American Indian education. It includes information on how American Indian students were taught English and on bilingual/bicultural education. In addition, there is material on teaching reading, math/science, curriculum development, and American Indian dropouts. Links are also provided to information on community-controlled schools, gifted and talented education, learning styles, and Indian children's books."

Check out this video on You tube called Indigenous Native American prophecy (Elder Speak part 1) It is very good! From an oversea's show, spliced to view the message from one elder (Floyd Red Crow Westerman)...how America has come and is destined to go. .. added the Elders Speak to the title, only because more clips will follow....
